I'm taking a break from washing to get this posted, as I'm running behind with everything going on this week. I'll make it short and sweet.
In Veggieville, we're really starting to get in to the summer harvest swing. At the market tomorrow we'll have green beans, big, fat juicy tuh-maters, cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, a smidge of okra, and some new stuff like canteloupe and Honey Bear acorn squash (an All American Award winner), and two types of bell peppers. We'll also have Sunshine Kubocha and New England pie pumpkins that you can see here:
In Porklahoma, it's just a matter of beating the heat, although this morning was really pleasant, and the pigs were running and playing for a change. At the market we'll have everything except baby backs and salami, but we'll have those at the market next week for sure. Due to so many requests to have our banger sausage back in link form, the batch being processed for next week will be in the links. As mentioned before, our processor charges $2.80 per pound to hand stuff those, so the price will be $8.95/pkg for links vs $6.95/pkg for the ground banger sausage. I'll just eat the eighty cent difference, as I know you guys really prefer the links.
Hopefully the rain holds off until the afternoon, but we really need some desperately so I'll take it either way. Thanks for reading, and come see us tomorrow at Cherry Street!
